A miss in time

She sang a song
And missed a man
Stared up a thought
And blinked a tear
He just toiled on
A clone of the day
Lost to the pangs
Of a reeling heart
She catches a solemn ride
And wades into an 'ask'
'Just missed him is all'
She tells on her plight
He trudges a wary retreat
To follow the dusk's tail
Comes upon the story
Her day had to tell
Holds her up close
And whispers a why
It was just a song
'Bout a man called Dad

Aloof

Hey there aloof
Sitting by a moon decked pool
Marinating in the chrome
Of your conjuring
You will find a nook
To rest your case
Until then it's a wait
Till your time's wound right
Does it bleach you
All the ceaseless taint
Do you wilt
Or even give a damn
Does the thought occur
As your mangled forms
Quiver up to you
Will you reach out
Float a reason's length
To dwindle and drown
Then rise on heads
Mounted on hoofs
Pretence to end
Then when it's all done
There's a lonely wake
Could you contain
There again aloof
